In response to the earthquake that has devastated Haiti, the borough is planning a benefit concert at the Haddonfield Memorial High School on Sunday, Jan. 31.
The “Help for Haiti” concert, which will begin at 3 p.m., will feature some of the most popular performers from First Night Haddonfield, the alcohol-free, family-oriented celebration of the arts held at downtown venues in Haddonfield each New Year’s Eve.
The concert program is being coordinated by Jane Mathers, the entertainment director for First Night. A list of performers is not yet available, but Mathers promises the talent will be “top notch.”
Elauwit Media, publisher of The Sun and Telegram newspapers, is a sponsor and will be publicizing the concert in all of its South Jersey newspapers.
Tickets for the event, which cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door, are available at the Information Center in Kings Court, in downtown Haddonfield. The center is open from noon until 4 p.m.
Proceeds will be donated to the Camden County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Residents who wish to send donations in support of the concert should mail checks (payable to “American Red Cross”) to Borough of Haddonfield, PO Box 3005, Haddonfield NJ 08033.
See next week’s Sun for details.
